So I haven't been back for 2 years. Kinda nervous now sitting at this Changi Airport Laptop Access desk which is really quit ea dark corner. It's as if electricity was shut off from this part of the airport. My connecting flight isn't for another 2 hours. Must say however this terminal is looking older than I remember even just from a year ago. Can't wait to be at terminal 3 and board my dream flight after the failed Concorde dream.
Walking through Changi always brings back heaps of memories. Singapore was a place I loved and hated at the same time. But there were lots of good memories. Walked past a food outlet selling Malay food in the airport and that unmistakable smell of the Malay oil was just too strong to ignore. They say smell is the one sense that brings memory. Couldn't agree more.
Quite nervous about the trip actually. First it was my then less than a year old passport that couldn't get me the visa, then it was the renewal that was cutting a bit close and then it was the visa that cut even closer. Haven't been back in two years, feel like I won't know how to face everything. Then of course there's the whole A380 experience. it's still kind of surreal. I am sure I'll act and look like one who has never travelled in her life time. No doubt.
It's strange having this holiday really. I don't know why. Could just be because, well, been so long.
Guess what, they have mobile cart selling DFS alcohol now in Changi airport. Amazing!
Speaking of which, my mission to get baby stuff for San and Boston plus my most important mission of getting alcohol awaits me. So off I go now. There will be part two. Perhaps even written onboard SQ221 heading to Sydney. :D
